do you blog here often?

what is it with me and those american teen magazines? they are a super strong magnet and when i am near them my entire body just turns into a bunch of iron filings. i cannot resist the exhausting, beautiful and terrifying pages. and every time i walk into borders, i thank my lucky stars that i can pick up american teen magazines in this british sea-side town.
i don't like british teen magazines half as much and sometimes i'm not sure why. i think it's generally because i have a continued fascination with america and i'm really getting sick of the lust-object that for some reason is gareth gates. i mean some on. the first time i heard "stupid mistake" i swear my mouth just dropped open because i could not believe they let someone release a song so lame. the pop music that is peddled in "seventeen" and "ym" is usually of the less lame variety. i found out about avril lavinge from "seventeen", who once also wrote a little about le tigre. which is more than nme has ever done.
i also like them because they share with me the america i get all bursty with whenever i am in a target store (those who know me will vouch for this). the america of bonne bell products and mudd jeans and, forgive me, hello kitty stationary. they never make me feel bad about myself like grown-up ladies magazines do. i know that teen magazines are evil, with their glossy pictures of super skinny girls in panties, but i sort of like the evil. i like that feeling of doing wrong! it's really something.
i ended up buying "ym" today because it had within it's capitalist pages, two big pictures of ja rule. plus josh hartnett is on the cover! mmm-hmmm. i don't feel ashamed about my passion for american teen magazines. ok, so maybe a little. but not half as much as if i read the grown up ladies magazines. they're weird and often discuss the merits of different hair removal methods. bor-ring.
"ym"'s advice to ladies willing to meet with a geek-shaped boi is to ask him, "do you blog here often?" now. that's cool.
