the eagle has landed
i got woken up on saturday morning by the phone ringing and it was sarah telling me that she was at brighton train station, so i ran out to meet her looking like a mess. we ended up spending the morning walking through the brightly-coloured and not tooo crowded laines and then going to the beach. we went back to my house and i tuned up my black heartbreaker guitar. it is so beautiful. it is light, and i can easily play it standing up, and it's just a lot easier to play than my squier strat.
i think i am falling in love with this geetar. sarah is an angel for bringing it over from the states for me.
it was super-fun having her over for the weekend. we went to the park in the sunshine loaded down with magazines and sweets and just chilled. she's been doing so much in london that i think she just needed some down time. we listened to the breeders and the all girl summer fun band and crashed.
that night we ate mexican food with my housies who have just got back from spain, and watched glastonbury on the teevee. it's weird to not be there this year, and even though the line-up isn't that good, i wish i could be there this weekend. lucy is there right now, so thats as good as me being there, i think.
last time i was there i got the coolest sea-green fairy wings. we jumped the fence and slept near the new bands stage and saw the flaming lips.
so, today sarah and me headed to the guitar store because i was worried about a little rattle i could pick up on the low e-string. yesterday i'd been in to pick up a strap and one of the boys who works there bounded over to me and sighed over my heartbreaker, telling me that he wanted to get his girlfriend one. today he fixed my guitar, tuned it up and changed the e-string and didn't charge anything. i like guitar shop boy. we went to waikiki moo kau for sausages and mashed potatoes and yorkshire pudding, then sarah got the train back to london.
last night me and josh had an intense conversation on the phone, and it rocked me to sleep. today josh is going with remy (who i also miss a bunch) to gay pride in nyc, and is going to try to get my zine sold at bluestockings bookstore.
it was weird talking with sarah this weekend about the people we knew at rutgers last year, it brought it all back for me, but in a comforting way. i love to gossip, what can i say? tonight you'll find me listening to the sunday surgery and playing my heartbreaker.
