i heart sean na na

last night mai and me headed down through a beautiful purple sunset to see sean na na play. i have been digging their songs for my whole time down by the sea, and was i an excited girl. so we walk in and the boy on the door is the boy from detroit who is in my women in modern u.s. politics class. and i always thought he was sneering at me and that he thought i was a total dorkette. i know that me and my chums in that class do act like idiots who can't get enough of university, mainly because we knew it would be our final ever class together and we've been bored out of minds together for four years now. but anyway, i was really weirded out by him being on the door since i usually always saw him in a doves tee and he was really sweet with me and told me how cool my riot grrrl thesis sounded. and it was weird.
me and mai talked and spied on people and didn't smoke and saw this punk band and the singer had this beat up guitar but it was so fake because it was a fender telecaster and he even had a fender strap and amp.
and especially when i think back to the night the yeah yeah yeahs played, there was hardly anyone in to see sean na na. i guess that's because nme hasn't put them between their precious fucking pages. which was pretty much fine by me because there were no pretentious indie rockers in sight. me and mai stood at the front, and when they started to play, did we dance!
sean tillmann is the sexiest man in rock n roll today, i swear to god. i cannot believe he is my age. oh my. he has these rockin hips and he was all sweaty and hairy and his voice was just how it sounds on record, like an angel. and the half of the time that i wasn't dancing about with mai, i ws just staring at him. the rest of the band looked like gap models. they were lepaing about and twirling the drum sticks and hammering on their instruments and just rocking out in this non-pretentious way. and i knew they wouldn't play 'princess and the pony' because that song's way too old and i was going to request it but i was too scared and then they played it anyway.
and it was perfect. and after that song, i found out that it was their firstever gig in england! after the set sean was selling ceedees on his own and we went over there and he told me that if i bought their latest album then i could get their other one for free and i told him that i had both and he was surprised and sweet and i was just swooning. and we talked for a while. but after a while i had to leave because it was too much.
the girl who put on the night told me that me and mai rocked because we didn't stop dancing the whole way through. i talked with her about her company, and how she knows my housemate, and we talked about how i could work for her this summer, hopefully hopefully. i'd love to do that, getting bands booked and going on the door for gigs and stuff; it would give america's dreaming a kick in the right direction. i am going to have to put my holly golightly interview in issue six and get this one wrapped up.

mmm-hmm.
